Regarding participation in the Blessed Sacrament of Christ’s True Body and Blood: Because oneness at the altar presupposes oneness in faith and doctrine, we expect that all who commune at the Lord’s altar are members in good standing of an LCMS congregation. We ask that all who commune register on a communion card. All visitors should state their home LCMS congregation. First time visitors please speak to Pastor Dreyer. Individual cups for those desiring them are available as you approach the altar.
READINGS FOR TODAY 1 Kings 17:8-16, Galatians 5:25-6:10 and Matthew 6:24-34 (lectionary readings can be found in the front of the hymnal on page Lectionaries xxi)
FLOWERS in front are given to the glory of God in honor of Harold and Marceil Kleine’s anniversary by their children and grandchildren with much love and admiration.
THANK YOU
to Pastor Dreyer and to our friends for the many cards, prayers and visits

The Old Testament + 1 Kings 17:8-16
The Epistle + Galatians 5:25-6:10
If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each will have to bear his own load. One who is taught the word must share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
The Holy Gospel + Matthew 6:24-34
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
